Obituary Notice

His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh passed away on April 9, 2021. He had been Honorary Fellow of our Academy since 1975, and had made huge contribution to our Acedemy's Duke of Edinburgh Prize which was established in 1987. The prize is awarded every two years to a Japanese scientist with outstanding achievements in the area of wildlife protection and species conservation. We express our deepest condolences for his decease.
