Notice on the Discontinuation of the Print Edition of Proceedings of the Japan Academy, Series B

Dear Readers,

Since its inception in 1912, Proceedings of the Japan Academy, Series B: Physical and Biological Sciences (PJA-B) has been primarily published in print. However, as the academic publishing landscape has increasingly shifted toward digital formats, PJA-B has also adapted accordingly. Since 2003, the journal has been hosted on J-STAGE, operated by the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST), providing free online access (Open Access) to all articles. This allows anyone to view and download PDF versions of published papers at no cost. In 2022, we also introduced an early online publication system, enabling prompt online release of accepted articles.

In line with these developments, the PJA-B Editorial Committee has decided to discontinue the print edition of the journal starting with Volume 102, Number 1. Going forward, PJA-B will be available exclusively as an online journal.

To keep readers informed of newly published papers, including author names and article titles, we plan to distribute updates via email.
